It is really important for Sure Start North Children's Centres to gain the views and opinions of families, carers, childminders and children themselves!
Our partnership with parents is key to our work and we have several forums where you are invited to come along and discuss the running and direction of the Centre.
Once a month parents and staff get together to share ideas, feedback from other parents, successes and concerns as well as looking at funding for extra programme activities. These meetings are very relaxed and informal and everyone is welcome.
Look out for dates and times of the next meetings or give us a call on 0191 213 4100. We would love to see lots of new faces and no contribution is too small.

Parent Representatives on our Partnership Board |
|
Any parent can volunteer as a Parent Representative. Our Partnership Board is made up of parents, staff, and colleagues from other partner-organisations. The Board meets once every six weeks. The meetings are very informal.
The role of the 'parent representatives' is to act as a link between the community and the centre. To let other parents and carers know what is going on and to tell us about their views on current issues within the centre.
We provide training and ongoing support to ensure each parent representative feels comfortable within these meetings.
If you are interested in becoming a representative why not come along to a Parent's Get2gether Drop in or Northern Villages Families Unite and find out what it's all about?
Alternatively, just give us a call for more information on 0191 213 4100 and ask to speak to Karen Morrison. |
